Aloevera

Aloe vera is known as the 'medicine plant', the 'burn plant', the 'first-aid plant', the 'miracle plant', the 'wand of heaven' and many other descriptions. Before the advent of modern medical practice , treatment was based on herbs in which aleo vera was mostly used. It was used extensively in the Arabian countries for the internal and external disorders. It was used for many centuries by different civilizations to treat a wide range of ailment. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries it was widely used in the countries like England and France by doctors and vet. It is very short -stemmed plant with thick leaves with soothing mucilaginous juice grown widely in tropic and as houseplants. Two parts of aleo vera plant have been used. When a leaf is cut a yellow-brown exudate appears dripping from the outer tissues. According to W. A. Shenstone, two classes of aloins are to be recognized in aleo vera:
(1) Nataloins, which yield picric and oxalic acids with nitric acid, and do not give a red coloration with nitric acid.
(2) Barbaloins, which yield aloetic acid , chrysammic acid , picric and oxalic acids with nitric acid, being reddened by the acid. This second group may be divided into a-barbaloins, obtained from Barbados Aloe, and reddened in the cold, and b-barbaloins, obtained from Socotrine and Zanzibar Aloe, reddened by ordinary nitric acid only when warmed or by fuming acid in the cold. Nataloin forms bright yellow scales. Barbaloin prismatic crystals.
Aloe Vera juice contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and vitamin C and calcium, copper, iron, manganese, minerals, chlorine, silicone, sulfur and potassium.Excellent for blood circulation, good for repairing tissue injury, within the body, protects the body against aggressive organisms, good for disorders of the joints and bones, assists to decrease itchiness in healing of the psoriasis, good for curing ulcers, good for controlling levels of sugar for the diabetic patients. It is effective for the treatment of hair loss. Aloe vera gel is used on the scalp because this herb includes enzyme which stimulates the production of hair. The juice of aloe Vera is also beneficial for people who have stomach or intestinal conditions. It can help in the curing of ulcers and also assist the digestive area to work easily. Aloe Vera is helpful in decreasing the surplus fats and carbohydrates. Its juice is used for the weight loss also and assists in burning energy.
Aloe vera gel is used fro minor treatments of wound,burns and skin irritations. Now aloe gel is available in tubes. There is a home remedies for asthma was to boil some Aloe Vera leaves in a pan of water and breathe in the vapor. Its juice is used into beverage and taken internally in many other conditions. In skin treatment it is helpful and acts as rejuvenating the skin. It is also used in different beauty products and it works as a moisturizer and hydrates the skin. When it absorbs into the, it stimulates the fibroblasts cell, these cells produce the collagen so the skin becomes smoother.
Aloe vera plant is very effective in some ways but the folk lore that it has 'magical healing effect' can never be regarded as cure of all ailments completely. It does however, have significant and highly positive benefits in some skin diseases.
